The Rain in Spain……

…..does not necessarily stay mainly in the plain. Last night it moved to the coast and completely hosed down and continues to do so. The scheduled marathon was cancelled due to flooding. Not conducive to wandering the town. But never mind, Malaga was always a bit of a transit point. But from what we’ve seen there’s lots to see!

Five minute walk to the Picasso museum. He was born here. I really liked the small bronze of a sitting bull and the painting of his son on a donkey. In the basement there were remains of 6-7 century Phonecian buildings, Roman era buildings and a 16th century street. Seriously cool. Think I’m more archaeologist that art historian.

Wandered into the Cathedral. Built between 1528 and 1782. Seriously ornate. Bells started ringing and the faithful started arriving so we made a respectful retreat.

Malaga Cathedral – the side entrance.

Checked out of the hotel by our midday check out and caught a taxi to bus station. Booked on 1:15 to Granada. Some showers predicted there today but fine tomorrow. Apparently tomorrow is Constitution Day. So not sure what we be open, though on line booking gave us tickets to Alhambra. Bit anxious.
