Headed out with Fred this morning for a drive around the area, checking on some of the local family spots.

Kirkton of Skene where my grandparents owned a general store a bike repair shop before they sold prior to emigrating to NZ. What was their shore has been through a number of changes. For a long time it was a pub – the Red Star. It now an Italian restaurant. My father claims it as the place he was conceived.

My great grandparents Charles Davidson and Jane Clark are buried in the Churchyard.

Banteith Cottage where my great grandparents were living at the time of the 1911 census and where my great grand father was still living at the time of his death in 1927. I’ve visited this cottage a few times now so have documented its steadily decay. The walls are still sturdy but the roof is looking poorly.
